Thank you, Mark, for calling evil evil, and for drawing the appropriate line in the sand. A line that when breached prompts fierce fighting from Christians, especially Christian men.
Absolutely. You are more charitable than I because they House has power of the purse. They could easily withhold funding as leverage. Unfortunately, we’ve seen how they are loathe to do this, and this is why I place blame squarely on them. Secondly, House Armed Services Committee has Constitutionally required oversight which they don’t exercise effectively. This us precisely the things they should be looking at, advising leadership who would act on the leverage they have.
We have feckless leadership at best, captured by financial or intel influences at worse. Either way, I cannot give them a pass. You are a far more charitable person than I.🙏🏼
I tweeted tagging everyone I could think of plus notified Military Parent Groups. We’re a retired military family. I would have raised holy hell at the base hospital if they had tried that with me, especially when overseas we had no other options.
I agree we err everyday and need to seek God's forgiveness everyday. I also agree that we should have compassion on those who have gender dysphoria. It must be awful to look into a mirror every day and see a body that they hate. However, i still disagree with regard to the adults who are transgender "and just want to get on with their lives". If an adult has body dysmorphia and wants to chop off their perfectly healthy right arm what does everyone say? NO! They need to seek therapy so that their feelings are changed or challenged. No-one chops of perfectly healthy limbs. If a person has anorexia nervosa, weights 56lbs, looks into the mirror and hates themself for being too fat and says that they need to go on a diet, what do we say? NO! they shouldn't go on a diet that may kill them. They need to seek therapy so that their feelings are changed or challenged. So how should we react to an adult who says they have gender dysphoria and they want to chop off their perfectly healthy genitals and have a double mastectomy? NO! They need to seek therapy so that their feelings are changed or challenged. There is now plenty of evidence circulating to show that when the honeymoon period is over transgender people are still not satisfied with their change. There is now plenty of evidence circulating to show the complications are many and can be life threatening. There is now plenty of evidence circulating to show that many regret the changes which maybe permanent. Yet because they are adults we just shrug our shoulders and say nothing because they were over the age of 18? The brain's frontal lobe keeps on developing until a person is 25. NO! They need to seek therapy so that their feelings are changed or challenged.
How does that impact on the rest of society? in 2 ways, the first one is the much discussed one of a man going into a women's changing rooms/ toilets/ entering women's sports/ sororities etc. Letting a transgender adult "get on with their life" always has a direct impact on the rest of society. Safeguarding is meant to be present to safeguard not only children but also vulnerable adults. Who is vulnerable in a woman's changing room? Who is vulnerable in a woman's prison? In each case it is the women who is vulnerable when a transwoman enters their space. Of course, not every transgender person is a criminal but 40% of those transwomen who are in jail are there because of a sexual crime. Of course, most transgender people just want to get on with their lives but no man is an island. In the 21st Century life appears to be like living in a 4 lane motorway/ freeway. Our lives collide with others. Just walking down the road from my house to the nearest shop, I pass people and even for a moment our lives connect. Of course, I want to be polite to them, I dont want to hurt them or upset them. But even here we all seem to get things wrong, because we misgender them. we look at a 6'3" 200lb person with a rugged face and a shadowbeard and we call the person a man with male pronouns. Yes we get it wrong and everyone makes mistakes. But what is the consequence of using a female pronoun for a man? By accepting this logic we are allowing the 200lb strong man to enter women's spaces. How can we deny a person that we have just called she the ability to use a women's bathroom? We have just called the person she but then we deny them the right to enter a woman's shelter? Of course, we cant deny them these basic rights. But the simple act of using preferred pronouns so that we dont hurt the transgender person basically blows away all safeguarding to the vulnerable. I feel we need to take a firm stand with this ideology, and at every point say "NO!"

Excellent post. We share excellent taste in Substackers, imho!
Just yesterday I read that military parents are NOT PERMITTED to access the Tricare healthcare portal on behalf of their children, ages 13-17.
The Republicans in Congress KNOW this.
Disgraceful.
I would not blame most Republicans though. With Biden in power, there is not much they can do about it.
But I was not aware of that. Perhaps Republicans should make people aware.
