Mark, thanks for this. I recommend Pusey House as well - it's my home church when living in Oxford. The Church of England is a different creature than TEC - part of that is its national character, I think.

I was a police officer for 33 years.

In the early 1980’s I worked for NYPD in a high crime precinct. Everyday and night I observed the incredible courage of men and women that raced to the scenes of armed robberies in progress, shots fired, knife fights, violent disputes, ect, They put their lives on the line for complete strangers that usually didn’t like them. John 15:13 tells us that there is no greater love than to lay your life down for a “friend”.

I was repelled by the letter Steve Wood wrote during the BLM riots and signed by Stewart Ruch lll and Todd Hunter.

More letters of agreement were signed by ACNA clergy disparaging law enforcement as the tip of the “systematic racism” spear.

Fast forward to present and Archbishop Wood supervises Bishop Ruch lll and Ruch is under charges for failing to handle a child molestation case in his church serious enough to put his employee, Mark Rivers, in prison for 15 year. (If all police are racists then it is safe to assume all priests are pedophiles? )

Why is Ruch not inhibited even after many letters of complaint from ACNA clergy? There is nothing police take more seriously than crimes against children. Christ said that if anyone hurts a child, it would be better for that person to have a millstone hung around his neck and be cast into the sea.

By Wood not bringing this case to a trial or inhibiting Ruch he appears to be watering the case down with a stall tactic and I am again repelled.

I agree that the George Floyd letter Bishop Wood co-signed with other bishops was unwise at best.

The current Ruch situation is less clear. I don't know what is behind the trial delay (and preparations have been made for a trial) and whether Wood has much of a role in that. I agree ACNA needs to get on with it and bring the Ruch situation to a just conclusion.
