I’ve seen this movie before. It didn’t end well.

Have to agree with you. The REC was wise to maintain entirely separate structures. In the effort to coddle the left wing, +Wood is driving the traditionalists away.

Reminiscent of my 20 years in progressive adjacent churches. It was pretty much always "punch right, coddle left", and a lot of vague and even mealy mouthed talk. Personally, I think ACNA might be better off parting ways with CFSOO.

Absolutely on target Mark! What a profound disappointment Wood is!

Why is ACNA drifting leftward if it was a conservative denomination at its founding?

Long story. Maybe I will tell some of it someday.

There seem to be some fringe outliers in the C4SO. Are we really seeing this anywhere else in ACNA? I don't see even a hint of "leftward drift" in my diocese.

Yes but C4SO is the worst diocese. And there are dioceses that are very sound such as Ft Worth and Living Word.

Short answer, they took a hardline on homosexuality and almost no line on divorce and adultery. They also quickly brought in a lot of evangelicals, and dressed them up in robes without telling the story of the divorce. The gospel coalition folks brought the confusion over the left and sexuality in with them. Now all of this is bearing fruit. The completely non-sensical prayerbook revision has created presbyterians with liturgy. These three streams of crazy are producing a denomination with no future. I saw it in 2006 and am glad I was just ungovernable as Father Calvin. I dodged a bullet.

Yes, I think too much desire for a big tent (Three Streams, Duel Integrities and all that) plus too much emphasis on quick church growth were and are serious problems.

I admit I was too naive to see it at the time.

I hate to see this. We recently joined an ACNA congregation and feel absolutely that it was a move guided by the Lord. Vigilance is always necessary, I suppose, but it does get exhausting.

Yes, and I would not let problems elsewhere in ACNA keep you from enjoying and participating in your new church. This past post might be helpful:

Thank you! To be clear, we moved churches because we had moved to a new city. Became Anglican after 25 years of Lutheranism because we found a spiritual home there. The longer we are there the more we love it. I do trust our clergy so I feel like that helps a lot.

Instead of dancing with woke, ++Wood should love Jesus by obeying Him & follow holistically Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:6-12, 1 Corinthians 11:1-16, 1 Corinthians 14:31-38, 1 Timothy 2:8–15, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Timothy 3:8-12, Titus 1:5-9, Titus 2:2-5, Ephesians 5:22-33, Colossians 3:18-21, 1 Peter 3: 1-6. Christ defines Christian culture here, how to do church and family. Yet Wood and much of the ACNA wiggle around their golden calf that was formed from worldly & unholy things.
