I am not a REC priest, but I am an ACNA priest who has followed Fr Robinson closely, and I have not found anything in his behavior or public declarations to merit the Archbishop's statement. Is he a lightning rod? Absolutely! But only because he is a conservative voice standing for tradition and orthodoxy in an increasingly "woke" culture and Church! Thank you for writing this! You speak for many, I'm certain!
Yes, and now he has been removed from the REC because Sutton, it seems, bowed to the pressure. How utterly inane. What happened to let your "yes" be "yes" and your "no" be "no". To grant someone a license and then revoke it? Awfully unfair whatever you think of the guy. And have you noticed that Calvin has now deleted his social media? So he's been run out of town. I was Anglican clergy and five years ago renounced my orders in the ACNA and found actual dogmatic safety and consistency in Orthodoxy. I just turned 40, and I think other young leaders are leaving ACNA in droves. My resignation was one of the best days of my life. Anglicanism is truly a joke, not just in its theological mess but in situations like this. I hope Fr. Calvin finds his way, and I hope people stand up for him and against this nonsense.
I am also very disappointed in Archbishop Steve Wood's comments. Thanks for sharing them. I was not aware. I've been following Fr. Robinson for over a year on X. My opinion is opposite Archbishop Wood's... I do NOT have concerns about Rev. Robinson’s ability to uphold the full commitments of our Anglican tradition, nor about his ability to model the Christ-like virtues of peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, and love. I believe Fr. Robinson would be a good representative of the Anglican Church in North America. The ACNA should seek to include and welcome him and his parish into the ACNA.
I’m ambivalent on Calvin Robinson, but I do admire his courage and willingness to speak for the most traditional Christian views. I disagree with him in places, but being decried by the archbishop (who is also the bishop who confirmed me years ago) is not in keeping with Christian charity, either. The archbishop should state what he’s said or done in specific terms if he wants to reprimand him. He should give a space for Fr Robinson to defend himself. Your article is quite good, and if it makes you a bad Anglican, I reckon I’ll join you.
A strong champion for tradition, like Robinson, is not allowed. Likely due to sour grapes over the truthful but unwanted things he said at Mere Anglicanism. HOWEVER, progressive leaders like Bishop Todd Hunter (C4SO) are empowered. Strange.
I’m just a lay person, but Fr Calvin’s ‘crime’ has nothing to do with his preaching of the gospel. I can only imagine what would happen to St Paul if he were around today.
Thank you, brother for your thoughtful and accurate post. Neither Bp. Sutton, nor our good brother, Calvin, warranted such a mean spirited response drop Abp. Wood. It is Inexcusable.

Thank you for standing up against the insulting letter.
Thank you Mr. Marshall. I was appalled at Archbishop Wood’s letter and would wholeheartedly sign my name in support of your letter.
Thank you! I'm not collecting names but if you want to share the letter and your agreement, feel free.
I will do that! Shared to my social media.
A "bad Anglican" is likely to be a good Christian.

You’re not a bad Anglican. Anglicans talk, process, and discuss things out loud. They’ve always aired their dirty laundry.
I hope you sent a copy of this letter to the archbishop by courier or FedEx.
I don’t know Calvin. But I know Steve. He has wisdom and courage. Still, he needs to hear from even bad Anglicans.
Good statement.
Hi Katherine. So good to “see” you! We know each other in real life, church. David and I are in VA now.
Ah, I have often wondered. I don't do Facebook, so I never knew how you were doing. Hope you are both well.

Oops! spelling error! Instead of "drop", it should be "by."
Excellent word.
Thank you, Mr. Marshall!
Good article.
Excellent. Thank you
