I was going to write something of a black-pill post about yet another awful Francis appointment — yes, Robert McElroy. But news so shockingly good came from Mark Zuckerberg of all people this morning that I’m shelving the black pills to give you some good news. I probably owe you patient readers a positive post after posts on self-defense and the Invasion anyway.
Now I’ve not been a fan of Zuck, and I freely acknowledge he has well earned healthy skepticism. But the announcements from him and Meta this morning are amazing and great news for free speech. See for yourself.
Where to begin? Zuck confesses past errors:
Too much harmless content gets censored, too many people find themselves wrongly locked up in “Facebook jail,” and we are often too slow to respond when they do.
He also admits Facebook’s fact-checking program failed. Zuck is ending it. Instead, a community notes system will be implemented. Yes, one can see Elon Musk’s influence here. Meta will now also deemphasize censorship, except for the worst of cases such as child exploitation and terrorism, and will change their automated systems accordingly.
Zuck freely admits the problem of political bias and, without naming names, the pressure to censor from the Biden Regime. One measure he is taking to reduce political bias is to move some offices from California to Texas. Again, echoes of Elon in that move. Meta is also naming UFC CEO Dana White to its Board of Directors. You read that right.
There’s more. Read and hear from Zuck and Meta. As I said, this is great news for free speech if Zuck is serious, and I think he is.
By reviving free speech Elon Musk and his X have done wonders, including paving the way for Zuck to change his ways. Really Elon may have saved free speech. But only one major social media platform being committed to free speech is a perilous situation. If Meta really does turn toward free speech and thereby makes that freedom more the norm again rather than the exception, that is great news for freedom and for the internet as a whole. And it makes it that much harder for the Globalists to cloak their predations. We owe Musk thanks for showing the way.
And we also owe Trump thanks. C’mon, admit it. This is yet more of the Trump Effect. Don’t take my word for it. Zuck freely cited the election as a factor in his decision. And he noted (again without naming names) that Biden Regime pressure to censor was a problem — a problem now lifted.
Remember Trump is not yet the 47th President of the United States. But his re-election has already accomplished more good than several entire administrations, including Biden’s. Just yesterday yet another big corporation, McDonald’s, ditched DEI programs. And, of course, up in Canada, the Boy Marxist Trudeau resigned after being cut down to size by Trump. We are living in amazing times . . . that are amazing in good ways for a change.
I certainly did not see Zuck’s announcement coming. Who knows what else is to come? Again, Trump hasn’t even been inaugurated yet!
Yes, yes, we cannot be complacent. Turning things around has begun and fast but still won’t be easy.
But it’s good to be white-pilled for a change!
I will believe when I see it! I still won’t support him! Everyone should have gotten off of Facebook when he began to censor people, but they weren’t willing to sacrifice it. Hit in the pocketbook where it hurts! They should do the same thing to YouTube and any media outlet that censors free speech!!
This is good news. Now we need an end to the advertising blockade on conservative media.
