Yes, the Left Really is Toxic … and Dangerous
Another anti-ICE shooting and an alarming poll
NOTE: Yes, I am following the Anglican Chaplains mess in ACNA. I am not yet at a place where I can post anything worth reading or listening to. I’ll just say that, at this point, good guys are hard to find.
——
This morning in Dallas, we had yet another instance of Leftist violence, yet another shooting aimed at ICE. Joshua Jahn shot at an ICE van from a roof top near an ICE center. (I read somewhere that it was the roof of an immigration law firm, which would be appropriate. But I haven’t confirmed that yet. More about all this will probably be out by the time you read this.) It appears he was trying to kill ICE officers but instead killed at least two detainees. He then killed himself.
There was briefly puzzlement, speculation, and downright gaslighting on the motive until the FBI revealed “ANTI-ICE” was etched on bullet casings.
Of course the gaslighting will continue, just as it has since the Charlie Kirk assassination.
Speaking of which, Rasmussen has released a poll, and it should give pause. 54% of Liberals agree with the following: “Charlie Kirk was speaking hateful words and his murder was tragic but understandable.”
I think what we are seeing is that at least a tenth and maybe a fifth of the American adult population is so far gone that they think murdering someone for his peaceful political views is “understandable” if those views are “hateful”, in other words, right of center.
Those of us who are conservative (or just common sense) Christians should take note. You might think that nutty Democrat friend or family member is harmless. Don’t be too sure. In Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, China, the Balkans, Rwanda, and elsewhere, people thought their neighbors of differing viewpoints were good neighbors, only to have those same neighbors assist in sending them to their deaths, if not doing the deed themselves.
For those neighbors were egged on and on by vilifying and even genocidal propaganda from the likes of Goebbels, Mao, Pravda and Radio Rwanda, not unlike the barrage from MSNBC and CNN, any number of social media accounts, and even many Democrat public officials.
Let’s pray the current vomit of Leftist violence does not get as widespread as other dark episodes of the past century. But let’s not be naive either. Lack of comprehension of evil and cognitive dissidence on the part of decent people only makes them more vulnerable to evil people as it has in many times past.
So let’s take wise measures to protect our families, our churches and ourselves. As I noted the other day, Jesus did not warn us of “swine” and “wolves” for nothing.
“Don’t Throw Your Pearls Before Swine”
This coming Sunday happens to be St. Matthew’s Day. So I’m intending that a study group I lead discuss various ways the Gospel of St. Matthew has different emphases from the other three Gospels. If my group does the homework I assigned them, each will share a different emphasis he notices.
And those who rejoiced in Kirk’s assassination or find it “understandable” have pretty much outed themselves as swine. And they are legion.
Let’s love our enemies. At the same time, let’s also be aware that we really do have enemies, many of them. And they are toxic and dangerous.

Toxic, dangerous and armed.
