Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you have a good day planned. Amazingly, my plans today include NOT drinking as part of my Lenten discipline. Besides, I drank plenty of good beer to St. Patrick this past weekend anyway.
Yesterday afternoon, at Henry VI House, I delivered a homily on the good example of St. Patrick — an example I think especially relevant during Lent and during this time of increased interest in traditional Christianity. I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.
You can also find my homily at Rumble. (The video quality might be slightly better there.)
Also, David Roseberry has a excellent post on St. Patrick and his good example to us.
Isn’t forgiveness always required, while reconciliation is not?
PS - One thing I am clear on, is that forgiveness doesn’t require reconciliation. That can lead to some very one-sided relationships and abuse.
