For those who missed my podcast yesterday, I am actually white-pilled now.
Shocking, I know. Yes, I, of all people am optimistic about the current political and religious direction of America for the next decade or two.
I mentioned how the epic moment of Trump surviving the assassination attempt and the current greater openness to the Faith have me thinking we are probably at a turning point in the right direction. Today I want to mention something else that has me optimistic — the glorious — or is it inglorious? — self-destruction of the Democrats and allies.
Psalm 9: 15, 16 reads in the Coverdale Psalter:
The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made; * in the same net which they hid privily is their foot taken.
The LORD is known to execute judgment; * the ungodly is trapped in the work of his own hands.
Often how God defeats evil and executes judgment is to let evildoers undo themselves. Similar verses are elsewhere in the Psalms. Psalm 7: 15-17 are among them:
Behold, the ungodly travaileth with iniquity; * he hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
He hath graven and digged up a pit, * and is fallen himself into the destruction that he made for other.
For his travail shall come upon his own head, * and his wickedness shall fall on his own pate.
Is this not what we’ve seen during the Biden years, particularly in the Regime’s actions towards Donald Trump? They tried to take him off the ballot and put him in prison and only made him more popular. They vilified him as a Hitleresque “threat to democracy.” Trump’s election would be the last election plunging us into a dark dictatorship! (Never mind that his first term was nothing of the sort.)
They had already made themselves absurd. But who expected they would help make Trump an iconic hero? Yes, when a 20-year-old loser acted out on the Democrats’ unhinged illogical vilification of Trump, the result was an epic survival that turned Trump into an American hero to many who were not even going to vote for him. Stepfanie Tyler is not alone:
Even now, after the assassination attempt, many Democrats and allies still just can’t help themselves. They keep digging their pits deeper. The Blue Anon crowd are saying it was all staged. They vilify Trump’s instincts of raising his fist and saying, “Fight, fight fight!” to let people know he was okay and still fighting. Others, like the now cancelled Kyle Gass, openly regreted the shooter missed. And Biden did not even wait a week before going back to his vilification of Trump, even repeating his “Fine People” Big Lie before the NAACP. This can only turn reasonable people even more against the Democrats.
All this only adds to a list of outrages from Democrats and the rest of the Regime, a list that was quite long already even before July 13th.
The irony is if they had only restrained themselves a little, if they had only opened the border less, had not gone after women and children with trans insanity, had not tried to turn Trump into a political prisoner, not turned cities into havens for crime tourism, not attacked free speech, not gaslighted us about Biden’s health and so much more, and (catches breath), perhaps most importantly, if they had toned down the inflammatory Big Lies against Trump, the Democrats might have been on their way to winning this election.
But, no, they just could not help themselves. That is a big problem with evil. Unchecked evil eventually can make one irrational, insane even. One of the ways evil undoes many of its practitioners is it undoes their judgement; it warps them into having “a depraved mind” that leads to self-destruction. (Romans 1:28)
I’m confident we are witnessing such self-destruction now, and on a large scale. I would rather see repentance, and some, including people one would least expect, are repenting. Their eyes have been opened to see what the madness of the Democrat Left leads to, and they see they want to go in a better direction, even a Christian direction in some happy cases. But that cannot be said for most committed Democrats.
So I am glad that the pits they have dug just might be swallowing up them instead of us. They appear to be suddenly sinking “down in the pit that they made; in the same net which they hid privily is their foot taken. The LORD is known to execute judgment; the ungodly is trapped in the work of his own hands.”
Thanks be to God.
But keep praying. I might be white-pilled now, but I still see we need it . . . a lot.
The magnificence of God is such that we are not punished FOR our sins, we are punished BY our sins.
