Texas Statistics on Illegals and Crime
What the "social justice" crowd ignores and wants you to ignore.
Recently I took Matthew 25, an initiative of my Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), to task for disparaging those concerned about illegal immigration as those who, once in the United States, then “want to keep strangers out.” I’m sure others could take any number of “social justice” groups to task for similar statements. Among other points, I wrote that those concerned about illegal immigration are right to be so given the predations of many illegals.
Since then I have come across some statistics from the Texas DPS on some of those predations (Yes, only some. More on that later.):
According to DHS status indicators, over 365,000 criminal aliens have been booked into local Texas jails between June 1, 2011, and March 31, 2022, of which over 250,000 were classified as illegal aliens by DHS.
Between June 1, 2011, and March 31, 2022, these 250,000 illegal aliens were charged with more than 416,000 criminal offenses which included arrests for 774 homicide charges; 49,866 assault charges; 7,756 burglary charges; 51,130 drug charges; 768 kidnapping charges; 20,324 theft charges; 32,581 obstructing police charges; 2,302 robbery charges; 5,241 sexual assault charges; 6,263 sexual offense charges; and 4,652 weapon charges. DPS criminal history records reflect those criminal charges have thus far resulted in over 156,000 convictions including 356 homicide convictions; 18,923 assault convictions; 4,002 burglary convictions; 22,237 drug convictions; 257 kidnapping convictions; 8,457 theft convictions; 13,818 obstructing police convictions; 1,364 robbery convictions; 2,480 sexual assault convictions; 2,973 sexual offense convictions; and 1,661 weapon convictions.
Note that these statistics are only for those “booked into Texas jails.” Also note that these “only count individuals who previously had an encounter with DHS that resulted in their fingerprints being entered into the DHS IDENT database. Foreign nationals who enter the country illegally and avoid detection by DHS, but are later arrested by local or state law enforcement for a state offense will not have a DHS response in regard to their lawful status and do not appear in these counts.” So no telling how many criminal illegals have escaped detection, either for their illegal entry and/or crimes committed since, and are therefore not reflected in these numbers.
Thus criminality from illegal immigrants is likely much worse than the above statistics reflect, and that only for Texas.
One can recognize that not all illegals are criminals and that many are decent people while still having one’s eyes open to this widespread predation.
But instead of opening our eyes, those who should inform us are covering up this predation. Where is the reporting from the mainstream “news” media about this?
And where is the concern from the Matthew 25 Initiative and the rest of the “social justice” crowd in and outside the church? They are oh-so concerned about welcoming illegals and even try to shame those who call them illegals and vilify those who want our borders secured. Where is their concern about the thousands upon thousands of victims of illegals?
The “news” media and the social justice crowd along with Democrats and cheap labor coveting RINO Republicans who have enabled and encouraged mass illegal immigration for years and years have a lot to answer for. They have a lot of crime and broken lives to answer for.
