Reinventing Education: New College Florida Update

I mentioned anti-woke reforms at New College Florida. Yesterday,
posted an update on how the reforms are going.
And the news is good! The new New College is attracting students with the incoming class the largest in its history. There is also addition by subtraction as 36 mostly very woke faculty have fled the horrors of sanity, creating openings for superior professors.
And now the Gender Studies department is being abolished. Yes, New College Florida is daring to abolish a sacred woke grievance studies department. Oh, the horror!
I suspect that, as it gets more well known that the trustees of New College Florida are serious about transforming that formally woke college into a successful liberal arts college and are making marked progress, New College will attract that many more serious students and faculty.
And other colleges and universities will take note. Many of these other colleges will also see that recruitment into their cookie cutter DEI-dominated departments is not what it used to be. They might even see that grievance studies departments harm their scholarship and reputation. Then a few will have enough courage to face down woke faculty and students and their hysterics to make needed reforms and follow in New College’s footsteps.
A useless prediction, yes. But in the midst of so much societal and academic rot, let’s rejoice that New College Florida is already reinventing education and with success. There is more to come.
