As I podcasted Friday, the Trump show trial guilty verdict crossed a serious line in America’s history, and we should not pretend that it didn’t. Nor should we pretend that continuing to support the Democrat Party is okay after this outrage.
What the Democrats did last week cries out for a strong response, something more than just campaigning and voting against them, although that is important. And Trump seems to be doing that quite well judging from all the money he has raised, well over $50 million last I heard. (Actually I’ve read it’s $200 million now, but I haven’t yet verified that.) Still, there has to be consequences for those who have pushed such unprecedented lawfare against a President and leading political opponent.
At the same time, that the Democrats have crossed serious lines does not mean we should, too.
I have read several advocating that we should drag Democrats into red states and go after them as they’ve gone after Trump and others in Manhattan and D. C. But actually we should not. They have gone after Trump on trumped-up charges that are novel to put it nicely. Instead of equal justice under the law, Democrats have operated on the Stalinist “Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.”
And they had to contort themselves to make up a crime, which speaks well of Trump’s ethics, by the way. Trump has been smeared as unethical but based on the absurd prosecutions against him, Trump is more saintly than unethical. If he were so crooked, he would be much easier to take down.
Back to my topic, we are better than the Stalinist Democrats and their show trials. For the sake of our country and our souls, we have to be better. So we should not concoct marginal charges and drag Democrats into red states to face them. That would give up the moral high ground. We need to let them be the bad guys for both moral and strategic reasons. Even more important is we do not want our country to go further into a banana republic downward spiral in which those in power constantly try to jail their political opponents because they are political opponents.
At the same time, there has to be a price to pay for last week and for all the grave harm Democrats have done to this country. And — I say this with sadness — it has gotten to the point where it probably has to be more than merely a political price.
One big reason Democrats have committed their outrages against children (abortion without restriction) and youth (“gender affirming care”) and constitutional democracy and more is because they can. They have had to pay virtually no price. Is there any doubt that the Clintons, Obama, and Biden are far more corrupt than Trump? Have any of them or their henchmen been indicted for anything? There’s been any number of bogus J6 indictments, including against Trump. Where are the indictments against BLM and Antifa, and against the Democrats who, like Kamala Harris, incited and aided them and other criminals?
Democrats must be made to pay a price, but it must be above board, not Stalinesque. First and foremost, we do strive to make sure they pay a political price. In that regard, the surge in donations to Trump is heartening. Likewise for those who are now saying Trump is not their favorite person, but they are definitely voting for him now.
As far as prosecutions, yes, Democrats should be dragged into red states to face prosecution for actual crimes, not concocted ones. And Democrats have been helpful in this regard by committing many actual crimes. The attacks on free speech are among them as is the Russian Collusion hoax fraud. There is the rather open solicitation of bribes by the Biden crime family. There is the funding of the BLM riots and roadblocks of 2020. There are many serious crimes to choose from! The trick is getting them tried in red states, not in D. C. or New York City, etc.
Republicans have long faced prosecution for lesser supposed crimes than Democrats actually commit. That has to change, and quickly. This pattern of Democrats getting away with worse and worse crimes against our country while they turn around and wage lawfare on political opponents has to end. But we still have to remain better than them.
Another way are better than them — notice there were no riots or the like after the Trump verdict? The most obvious way Trump supporters responded is by donating. We are not like them. We are better than them. And it needs to stay that way.
So I will say something I and Doug Wilson and others have said before: Don’t take the bait. Yes, they have committed outrages. Yes, some of them may deserve street justice, but it would still be stupid to give it. Let them be the bad guys, not you. Especially don’t commit acts of violence except in necessary self-defense. I am no pacifist so I will not say that violence is never justified.
But this is not a time for violence. It would only play into the Democrats’ hands. It would enable them to distract from their evil by portraying us as the dangerous violent ones, just as they did after J6. Besides, non-violent and more effective means of fighting remain. It is a real possibility that this current evil regime falls and falls hard in this year’s elections. Strive and do your part to make that happen. Don’t commit violence that plays into the hands of the Regime and its campaigners.
Yes, probably no one reading this needs to be told that. But if even one who needs to be told reads this, then I’ve done my part.
So yes, fight hard against the Democrats (and RINOs) and what they are doing to this country. But fight clean. Fight smart. Fight non-violently. We are better than them. So be better than them.
