Election Day this past Tuesday was pretty sleepy across most of Texas. (Perhaps one day, I will tell you all a funny story of when I was an Election Judge for a particularly tedious off-year election.) Most of us who actually voted did so on obscure Texas Constitutional amendments. Well, Houston had a big race for Mayor that is going to a run-off. I think Sheila Jackson Lee will be defeated. I am no fan of her opponent, Whitmire, but let us pray for him anyway for Houston’s sake.
But although not much happened here in Texas, it is hard to miss the results elsewhere were not encouraging — unless you cheer babykilling like the Ohio people in the frontpage photo. Speaking of Ohio and abortion, Senator J. D. Vance gave some straight talk about abortion and elections afterward. This long time pro-lifer concurs.
Not every election result was dark. But overall, Tuesday was a disturbing reality check. Democrats have done their worst, or close enough to it, to earn an electoral beatdown. But, at least this year, they are not getting it. It makes me wonder what do they have to do to lose.
Has the country become that evil or the elections that rigged after the 2020 deforms or both that we are now a one-party country with that one party being profoundly evil and pretty much totalitarian?
I pray not, and I intend to do all I reasonably can to defeat the Democrats (and their RINO allies) in 2024. But I think, while fighting to win, we have to prepare to lose.
And I am not talking about losing just one election, but losing the country. If the Democrats hold on to the White House in 2024 after all the evil they have done, I expect the sun will have gone down on America, perhaps never to rise again, at least not in the lifetimes of many of us.
I know, alarmist. And I’m well aware of the argument that politics works like a pendulum, going from right to left to right and so on. And from Eisenhower to Trump’s 2016 election, that was the case. But so far, the pendulum of election results is not swinging back to the right when it has every reason to do so. I fear the pendulum may be broken beyond repair.
Yes, my view of matters is that dark, but I am not alone. Read
. So while doing what I can to expose the evil of the woke and of the Democrats (But I repeat myself.) and to urge people to oppose the evil, I am preparing to lose. I urge all Christians and people of right mind also to fight to win for love of country and neighbor and yet prepare to lose.Part of preparing to lose is setting up small communities, such as worship and study groups, to persist and preserve the light of the The Faith and of Western civilization in the darkness that may be coming. Dreher calls that The Benedict Option because that is the role monasteries played in early medieval times. I won’t repeat all his thinking here. Read his books The Benedict Option and Live Not By Lies for that.
Don’t get me wrong. I still think it’s possible that the evil madness of the Democrats will so repel decent people that 2024 could be a change election that returns us to sanity for a time. I am praying and fighting for that.
But this past Tuesday should serve as a reality check that America may be running to judgement and destruction all while many preen and cheer and feel oh-so superior for their babykilling, their public perversions, their antisemitism, and their woke hate, and most of the rest of us congratulate ourselves for being so tolerant of all that or just don’t care.
God is far more patient and merciful than I am, for which we should all be thankful. So I do not presume to know that judgement and destruction are coming tomorrow or next year or the year after. But we also should not presume on his grace. And we certainly should not presume we will defeat the woke totalitarians any time soon. So . . .
Prepare.
Speaking of "evil madness" that is exactly what you will gt if this project gains the necessary political power to enforce its all-encompassing political and cultural agendas. It is financed by at least 72 deep-pockets right-wing so called conservative think tanks etc.

You have remember too that evil and the potential to dramatize it on to the bodies of those you vehemently disagree with, or hate, exists in every human being of whatever religious or political persuasion, except possibly in the case of the very rare Saint of which none exists in the USA (such is of course almost impossible) The potential to dramatize such evil exists even more so in human collectives that share and thus energize the same self-righteous "moral" posturing.
