On September 10th, I was intending to post a response to the murder of Iryna Zarutska. The horrific events of that day made me shelve that. Yet the events of that Wednesday actually made many of my intended observations that much more relevant. And we should not forget Iryna Zarutska and those (Yes, that’s plural.) responsible for striking her down.
So I am now posting what I intended to post on the 10th, lightly edited and with additional observations relevant to the Kirk assassination in italics.
We are at a tipping point. The completely unprovoked murder of Iryna Zarutska at the hands and knife of Decarlos Brown on a Charlotte light rail train has galvanized this country as no crime in recent memory. Charlie Kirk himself tweeted, “America will never be the same” on the 9th, only for that murder to be overshadowed by his own the next day.
I am not sure why the Charlotte murder so affected us. Yes, that the whole awful event was on clear video is a factor. The Democrat Mayor of Charlotte tried to suppress the video for a reason. But other awful murders have been taped and seen. Also a factor is that Brown was yet another criminal allowed to roam the streets and public transportation (probably jumping fare) even though has a long violent rap sheet and had been arrested 14 times. But he is one of many such predators set upon us by Democrat judges, DAs and other officials in American cities. Perhaps it is that we can see the complete innocence of the victim before the attack and her complete helplessness after.
One aggravating factor this murder lacks is that Decarlos Brown is a U. S. citizen born in the United States. One might think a murder by a “refugee” would have been what ignited the current outrage, but that turns out not to be the case. That said, the Biden Invasion brought home that the Globalist establishment does not care about defending and protecting us.
Perhaps it is the timing of the attack in where we are in a culture. For years the Democrats, the Soros, and other Globalists set their invaders and criminals upon us. And they vilified Kirk and the rest of us who opposed the Globalist predations as racists, Nazis, etc. But those who dared speak up and tell the obvious truth about what was being done to us risked cancellation and unemployment and maybe worse. Such even now risk prison in the U. K. or murder in the U. S.
But now the storm tides of cancellations against truth tellers have receded. And the righteous wrath of Americans against what has been done to us is turning the cancellers into the cancelled. And more are finding their voice to call out what the woke and the Globalists have done to us. And more — most? — have had enough. And that goes double or triple after the murder of Charlie Kirk.
So a tipping point was inevitable. And it appears we now have it. And if we didn’t have it after the Zarutska murder, we sure have it now.
So what do we do now other than get angry on social media? We need to tread carefully, for we are at a dangerous point. We need to proceed with our eyes open. While we act on reality, we should not speak or act on the toxic basis of racism. We should address the actual problems, not make the problems worse by presuming it is skin color — and it is not. We have gotten to this awful place in part because it became acceptable, even almost mandatory, to vilify Whites because they are Whites. Vilifying Blacks because they are Blacks will lead us into more awful places. Don’t give into the temptation of racism and assist those so tempted.
Race is less a factor in the Kirk murder and the ugly celebrations afterwards. But some of those making disgusting responses are Black, even Black “Christian” preachers. We need to remember most Blacks are not that way. And besides, the problem is cultures and subcultures, not skin color and ethnicity.
In history, defenestrations have been provoked by much less than the predations of recent years. And defenestrations may be called for, but let us pray they are figurative, not actually throwing public malefactors out windows as tempting as that may be.
And this is one reason that many of the celebrants being exposed and losing their jobs is a healthy response. If nothing were to be done about such, that would invite worse.
So we are at a dangerous point. The best way to defuse and remedy our current situation is accountability. And I am heartened to see quite a revival of accountability after the Kirk murder. We needed it. And we need more of it. And there should be accountability anyway. Criminals should be locked up or executed. Judges, lawyers and officials responsible for letting them out on the streets again and again should pay a price, prison in some cases. Those, like the Soros, who use their fortunes to release criminals and invaders on us, should be stripped of said fortunes and put in prison. And politicians behind the predations should at least pay a political price.
The same can be said about those who have pushed applied Critical Theory, aka wokeness on us. Wokeness not only enables crime but it justifies, even demands, the vilification of those who oppose wokeness and related policies. That was surely a factor in both the murder of Kirk and in the evil celebrations afterward.
But “the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” (I Peter 4:17) So I will focus on the need for accountability in the church.
For years too many church leaders have used their positions to push wokeness and invasion. (And again Decarlos Brown is a born U. S. citizen as is Tyler Robinson. But the Biden Invasion and illegal immigration for decades before has greatly contributed to crime among other societal problems.) And these leaders were not just the usual mainline libchurch suspects, and not just the usual traitorous Jesuits. They included those who infiltrated otherwise orthodox and evangelical churches.
Their unwise and, in many cases, evil activism helped push lenient judges and DAs, no cash bail, dangerous criminals being let back out on the streets again and again, enabling of dangerous vagrants, reduced police forces and hamstrung policing, and, with the Invasion, an increasing number of predatory criminals to deal with as well — and the slander and vilification of those who opposed the above and held to traditional Christian values.
It was clear to those with any common sense that this activism was dead wrong. It is all the more clear now. It is too clear. The results of this activism has a high death toll that now includes Iryna Zarutska and Charle Kirk.
Healthy churches do not put their leaders on pedestals or declare them infallible. We should not expect church leaders to be perfect. But healthy churches do hold their leaders accountable. And godly Christian leaders repent and apologize when they gravely err. And those leaders that pushed wokeness and Invasion did gravely err with horrific results.
Churches should expect, nay, demand such leaders to repent and apologize, publicly. If any such leaders stiffen their necks and especially if they continue in their evil activism as many Roman Catholic and Church of English bishops are, they are to be shunned and cast off as much as possible. The faithful should defund their offices. If they do not have the common sense and moral clarity to repent and apologize, then they should not be trusted with the offerings of the faithful. In addition, I have decided I will not receive communion from such bishops.
Yes, for those church leaders who refuse accountability for their fashionable, foolish 2020 woke activism, for those who refuse to repent, there must be reckoning.
And if the laity in the pews have to be the ones who bring about “judgement at the house of God,” then so be it.
I’m here for it.
Yes and Amen
Thank you for this call to repentance for the church. We desperately need to 'hear, mark and inwardly digest' these words of the Apostle Peter
